Garlic Parmesan Cabbage


Ingredients

  • 1 cabbage

  • 1/2 cup half and half

  • 4 oz parmesan cheese

  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter

  • minced garlic

  • minced onion

  • salt

  • pepper

  • onion powder

  • garlic powder

  • optional: creole seasoning


Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F

  2. Heat an oven-safe dish (like a cast iron skillet) on the stove

  3. Cut cabbage into half moons

  4. Sear cabbage for 5 minutes on each side - season with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and creole seasoning if using

  5. Remove cabbage from dish and add 2 Tbsp of unsalted butter

  6. Add minced onion and stir together

  7. Add minced garlic, and immediately add 1/2 cup of half and half before the garlic burns

  8. Add parmesan cheese and more seasonings if desired

  9. Bring to a simmer, stirring so that nothing gets stuck to the pan

  10. Add cabbage back to pan and mix sauce

  11. Put entire dish in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until cabbage is tender
